A fully escorted 4 day/3 night visit to Northumberland by luxury coach. Staying at the 4star Redworth Hall Hotel, set in 26 acres of stunning Northumbrian countryside. This is a former Jacobean Manor from the 17th century, featuring a spa with an indoor pool. Accommodation is on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.

Our first stop is the city of Durham where we will visit the magnificent Romanesque Cathedral and Norman Castle. We will then be visiting what's considered to be Britain's first 'smart' home, Craigside - the first house in the world to be lit by hydro-electricity. The next day we'll be going to Woodhorn Museum in Ashington, which was a former coal mine, to see the Pitman Collection. In the afternoon there is a visit to Wallington Hall, once home to the unconventional Trevelyan family. Our last day starts with the Angel of the North designed by Anthony Gormley, installed in 1988, and afterwards we continue to the Laing Gallery in Newcastle. Our final visit is to Seaton Deleval Hall, which is on the coast and concludes our four -day trip.

A day trip to the ROYAL HORTICULTURAL GARDEN, BRIDGEWATER in SALFORD to see their spectacular Spring Garden displays.  The hundreds of thousands of bulbs they've planted will be putting on a splendid show.

The Arts Society Leeds has arranged this special event with Opera North which includes
attendance at a full Dress Rehearsal in Leeds Grand Theatre. Before the performance, we will
hear two of the guest artists talking about their life and career in music and the Assistant Artistic
Director describing her role in the creation of a production. This will be supported by a display
of box sets and costumes from Cosí fan Tutte.
PROGRAMME

12.45-1.40 pm: Joint session with the Assistant Artistic Director Esther Dix & ‘cover’ singers
