THE NATIONAL GLASS CENTRE
Monday 29 April 2019

A visit and guided tour to the National Glass Centre in Sunderland which was once the glass making capital of Britain.  It was particularly famous for its manufacture of Pyrex ware.

The Centre houses a Museum dedicated to the history of glass-making and has several galleries with changing exhibitions.  Hot-glass demonstrations provide a context for the Museum's collection.

A number of working artists are locsted on the site and their work can be purchased in the glass shop.

Cost £35 which includes a soup and sandwich lunch and afternoon tea with scones.
